Quetta: Sardar Akhtar Mengal, leader of the Balochistan National Party (BNP), has revealed that FIRs have been registered against 1,200 individuals, including himself. Shockingly, the list includes children and even people who are no longer alive, he stated.
Expressing his concerns, Mengal condemned the inclusion of women and children’s names in these cases, calling it a matter of deep regret.
He further added, “I have arrived at Wadh police station, ready to surrender along with my people.” However, authorities neither arrested them nor withdrew the FIRs, he pointed out.
According to Mengal, the charges in the FIRs include blocking roads, kidnapping individuals, and disarming and assaulting police officers. He dismissed these allegations as fabricated and politically motivated, emphasizing that such tactics of intimidation would fail.
“We are sitting inside the police station, voluntarily offering our arrest,” he reiterated.
It is noteworthy that two weeks ago, an FIR was lodged against Sardarzada Gurgain Mengal, local traders, and others by the administration in Wadh. In response, Sardar Akhtar Mengal arrived at Wadh today and surrendered alongside fellow party members in protest against these charges.
