
Reception and Tea Hosted in Honor of Newly Elected Cabinet of Gwadar Press Club
Gwadar: BSO Pajjar Central Committee member Zarif Dashti hosted a reception and tea in honor of the newly elected cabinet of the Gwadar Press Club. Speaking on the occasion, BSO Pajjar Central Committee member Zarif Dashti, National Party’s Provincial Fisheries Secretary Adam Qadir Bakhsh, and former National Party Central Committee member Madam Tahira Khurshid emphasized that journalism and politics are inseparable. They stated that the National Party firmly believes in freedom of expression, and a free media and press are essential for strengthening democratic values.
They strongly condemned the PECA Amendment Ordinance, calling it a tool to suppress the media, press, and general public. They argued that this ordinance is a blatant violation of democracy, human freedoms, and fundamental rights, aiming to impose authoritarian rule. Both the National Party and BSO Pajjar firmly opposed this ordinance.
They further stressed that the media and press must remain independent. The National Party and BSO Pajjar support human freedoms and stand in solidarity with journalists. Congratulating the newly elected cabinet of the Gwadar Press Club, they praised the journalists associated with the club for their unbiased and commendable journalism. They expressed hope that the club would continue its tradition of independent reporting.
Addressing the reception, Gwadar Press Club President Ismail Umar and senior journalist Noor Mohsin stated that the press club is a public institution. They reiterated their commitment to highlighting societal issues beyond ideological affiliations. They acknowledged the close relationship between political parties and the media, emphasizing that journalists must practice fearless journalism despite the challenges they face. They assured that they would not compromise on their professional responsibilities.
At the end of the event, they extended heartfelt gratitude to BSO Pajjar and the National Party for organizing the reception.
