PM Shehbaz Sharif Chairs High-Level Meeting on Balochistan’s Security and Development

Quetta: Prime Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif chaired a high-level meeting on security and development projects in Balochistan. Attended by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, federal ministers, security officials, and senior government representatives, the meeting focused on key issues affecting the province.

Discussions covered security concerns, ongoing development initiatives, and strategies for stability. Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti expressed deep sorrow over recent terrorist incidents, particularly the tragic event in Kalat, vowing to bring the perpetrators to justice. He reiterated the government’s zero-tolerance policy on terrorism and emphasized that illegal activities or violence would not be tolerated.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received a detailed briefing on the performance of security agencies, ongoing operations, and future security strategies. He directed security officials to remain vigilant and ensure the protection of citizens.

Chief Minister Bugti highlighted the efforts of law enforcement agencies in combating terrorism and affirmed that all necessary resources were being utilized to maintain peace. He stressed that external forces seeking to destabilize Balochistan would be thwarted and that no attempt to hinder the province’s progress would succeed.

The meeting also underscored the importance of merit-based recruitment as a step toward Balochistan’s stability. Transparent hiring practices, according to the Chief Minister, were opening up better opportunities for the youth and contributing to the region’s development.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to Balochistan’s development, emphasizing modern infrastructure, quality education, healthcare improvements, and job creation. He urged for the timely completion of development projects and directed relevant authorities to enhance security measures and expedite progress.

Significant decisions were made to strengthen security, accelerate infrastructure projects, and improve law enforcement coordination. The Prime Minister stressed the need for collaboration among all institutions to secure a prosperous future for the people of Balochistan.

Following this meeting, security measures are expected to be reinforced, development initiatives accelerated, and additional steps taken to ensure long-term peace and stability in the province.
