NCEAC Team Evaluates BS Computer Science Program at the University of  Turbat

Turbat: A delegation from the National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC), HEC visited the University of Turbat (UoT) to assess its BS Computer Science (4-year) program. The visiting team, comprising esteemed academics and IT experts, included Prof. Dr. Aftab Ahmed Sheikh, Convener, NCEAC, and Prof. Dr. Ghufran Ahmed, Member, NCEAC.

During the visit, Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan briefed the team on UoT’s academic progress over the past 13 years, emphasizing the university’s dedication to excellence in education, research, and innovation. He outlined a comprehensive automation plan to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accessibility across key areas such as admissions, student records management, faculty coordination, financial transactions, and library services. Dr. Gul Hasan also commended NCEAC’s efforts to elevate the quality of computing education nationwide and align it with global academic standards.

Dr. Rashid Ali delivered a detailed presentation covering the BS Computer Science curriculum, faculty expertise, infrastructure, student enrollment, and available facilities. The NCEAC team toured the labs and classrooms, engaging with faculty members and students.

Upon arrival, the NCEAC delegation received a warm welcome from Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, Vice Chancellor, UoT, along with Dr. Riaz Ahmed, Director, Quality Enhancement Cell, Dr. Naeem Ullah Khan, Dean, Faculty of Science, Engineering & IT, Dr. Rashid Ali, Chairperson, Computer Science Department & Focal Person, NCEAC, Mr. Muhammad Sameer, Director IT, and faculty members from the Computer Science Department.

The NCEAC team praised UoT’s commitment to advancing quality education in this remote region. They acknowledged the university’s initiatives in equipping students with modern technological skills, enhancing faculty development, and improving infrastructure to meet evolving industry and academic demands.

The visit concluded with a closing session, where the Vice-Chancellor presented commemorative shields to the NCEAC members in appreciation of their efforts.
