Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cabinet Renames Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium After Imran Khan

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) cabinet has officially approved renaming Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium in Peshawar after Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former Prime Minister of Pakistan.

According to reports, the decision to rename the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium was made recently. The provincial sports department had prepared a formal proposal for the name change, which was then forwarded to Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur for approval.

In the official letter sent to the chief minister, the sports department recommended renaming the stadium in honor of Imran Khan, recognizing his contributions to Pakistan’s cricket and politics.

This decision is seen as a tribute to Imran Khan’s legacy in cricket, particularly his leadership in securing Pakistan’s 1992 World Cup victory, as well as his impact on the country’s political landscape.
