JUI Gwadar Protests Against Assassination of Party Leaders
Gwadar: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Tehsil Gwadar organized a protest outside the Gwadar Press Club, denouncing the assassination of party leaders Wadera Ghulam Sarwar and Maulana Amanullah. Holding banners and placards, demonstrators demanded justice and urged authorities to take swift action against those responsible.
JUI Gwadar Emir Maulana Muhammad Ilyas Mujahid, along with other senior leaders, including District Vice President Muhammad Anwar Manwar, District General Secretary Maulana Muhammad Khair Farooqi, Tehsil General Secretary Hafiz Abdul Karim Abid, and former District Vice Emir Maulana Abdul Hadi, addressed the gathering. They strongly condemned the killings, emphasizing that such acts of violence would not weaken JUI but instead strengthen the party’s commitment to its cause.
The speakers criticized the authorities for failing to maintain security and stressed that a pattern of targeted attacks against JUI members has been ongoing. They recalled past assassinations, including those of Maulana Shams-ul-Haq and Dr. Sarfaraz, and expressed concern over the rising violence in Khuzdar, particularly referencing the recent killing of JUI Provincial Vice Emir Maulana Muhammad Siddique Mengal.
JUI leaders asserted that despite the government’s increased security presence in Balochistan, incidents of violence and enforced disappearances continue to rise. They accused the authorities of negligence and demanded urgent action to curb lawlessness in the region.
According to the protest leaders, Wadera Ghulam Sarwar and Maulana Amanullah were ambushed and killed while returning from a visit to express solidarity with families of missing persons in Surab. They claimed that JUI members were being systematically targeted as part of a larger plot but vowed to stand firm against such tactics.
The protesters called for the resignation of the provincial government, holding it responsible for the deteriorating law and order situation. They urged authorities to immediately apprehend the perpetrators and ensure justice for the slain leaders.
