Boat Sinks in Kuntani Hor – Fishermen Appeal to Authorities for Justice
Jiwani – A fishing boat worth 4 million rupees sank off the coast of Kuntani Hor in an incident that the affected individuals attribute to the alleged negligence and misconduct of Coast Guard and Levies personnel. The boat’s owner, now left without his only source of livelihood, has appealed to the authorities for immediate compensation, stating that he and his family are struggling to survive.
The affected individual has expressed his grievances in his own words:
“If my loss is not compensated, I will be forced to protest. I will take my plea to the courts and knock on every door in search of justice. If the administration, the Coast Guard, and the Government of Balochistan do not assist me, I will escalate my appeal to the federal authorities and take every necessary step to seek justice.
He further stated:
I strongly urge the Gwadar administration, the Coast Guard Colonel, and the Government of Balochistan to compensate for my lost boat so that I can resume my work and provide for my children. Otherwise, I will be compelled to take legal action against the Coast Guard and Levies and ensure that my voice reaches the highest authorities.
These statements, made on behalf of Akram, son of Mehrab, and Malik, son of Mehrab, underscore the urgent need for action. Their plea is not merely a request for financial compensation—it is a call for accountability and a restoration of their dignity and means of survival. It is hoped that the responsible authorities will address these concerns promptly and take the necessary steps to ensure that justice is served.
