Balochistan High Court Reviews PSDP 2024-25 Case
Quetta: Balochistan High Court recently conducted a hearing on a constitutional petition filed by Mir Asad Baloch, leader of BNP Awami, against the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) for 2024-25. The case was heard by a divisional bench comprising Justice Abdullah Baloch and Justice Najmuddin Mengal.
Legal Representation and Key Allegations
During the proceedings, Barrister Baloch Khan Advocate represented the petitioner, while Additional Advocate General Sheh Haq Advocate appeared on behalf of the government. The petitioner argued that a specific constituency in Balochistan had been completely overlooked in the PSDP allocations.
“The Chief Minister and the government serve the entire province. How can a single constituency be ignored?” questioned the petitioner, emphasizing the need for fair and inclusive development planning.
Court’s Response and Directives
Expressing dissatisfaction over the government’s failure to submit a response, the court reprimanded the authorities. As a result, the court ordered the Additional Chief Secretary of the Department of Planning and Development to appear in the next hearing.
The hearing has been adjourned until February 24, 2025.
