Quetta: The Balochistan government has officially started preparations to integrate the Balochistan Constabulary (BC) into the Frontier Corps (FC). This initiative follows detailed discussions between the Chief Minister of Balochistan and the Chief Secretary, resulting in a structured plan that will undergo thorough evaluation.

 

Formation of a Joint Committee

To ensure a smooth transition, a joint committee comprising senior officials from the relevant departments, the Frontier Corps, and the Balochistan Constabulary has been formed. This committee will oversee the merger process and address key aspects before implementation.

 

Key Focus Areas of the Review

 

The joint committee will assess the following elements:

Development of a Merger Roadmap: Establishing a clear timeline for execution.

Operational Enhancements: Identifying necessary improvements for seamless integration.

Legal, Technical, and Financial Analysis: Evaluating the impact and feasibility of the merger.

Personnel Training and Deployment: Preparing officers for their roles within the FC.

 

 

Supervision and Leadership

A dedicated oversight panel has been set up to monitor the merger’s progress. Key members include the Deputy Inspector General of FC (North), the Additional Secretary of the Home and Tribal Affairs Department of Balochistan, the Deputy Commandant of the Balochistan Constabulary, and a Lieutenant Colonel from FC (South).

 

Final Review and Approval

According to officials, the finalized merger plan will be presented to the Chief Minister of Balochistan and the Commander of 12 Corps in the third week of March for further evaluation and approval.
