Tensions Escalate Between Aiwan-e-Sadr and Prime Minister House
Islamabad: The differences between Aiwan-e-Sadr and the Prime Minister House have come to the forefront, as directives issued by President Asif Ali Zardari continue to be ignored.
According to sources, on August 5, 2024, Aiwan-e-Sadr sent a summary to the Prime Minister House regarding the appointment of an administrator for Islamabad Club on the president’s instructions. However, no response has been received to date. Similarly, a letter was sent on January 10 for the appointment of an Ambassador-at-Large, but the Prime Minister House has remained silent on the matter.
Furthermore, President Zardari had recommended the conferment of Sitara-e-Imtiaz on the late Ali Suleman Habib on August 19, 2024, and Nishan-e-Imtiaz on the late Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan on September 11, 2024. However, the Prime Minister House has stated that these requests are still “under process.”
Sources at Aiwan-e-Sadr indicate that President Asif Ali Zardari is displeased with the government’s attitude, and these differences could intensify further in the coming days.
