Karachi: Governor of Balochistan, Jafar Khan Mandokhail, addressed an event at the Chinese Consulate in Karachi, marking the launch of the “Solar Energy System for Livelihood in Balochistan.” During his speech, he emphasized that without a strong and stable economic foundation, all efforts for progress would be futile, and the stability of governance would remain vulnerable.
He praised the Chinese government’s solar energy project, describing it as a crucial initiative aimed at empowering communities, ensuring an eco-friendly environment, and creating new development opportunities. He highlighted that such projects could serve as a catalyst for revitalizing local economies.
The event was attended by the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Pakistan, Mr. Yung Yundong, and Bayezeed Khan Kasi, Chairman of the Friends of China Forum.
Governor Mandokhail underscored the historic friendship between Pakistan and China, expressing gratitude for China’s continued support in challenging times. He acknowledged China as one of the world’s leading nations in science and technology and emphasized Pakistan’s eagerness to benefit from China’s advanced knowledge and technological expertise.
Referring to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a symbol of strong bilateral cooperation, he stated that this mega project has the potential to transform the entire region’s economy. He reiterated that Pakistan and China, as neighboring nations, could achieve even greater success through mutual commitment and collaboration.
Governor Mandokhail also stressed the significance of solar energy in fulfilling the energy demands of educational institutions, healthcare centers, agriculture, and households. He highlighted that in today’s evolving world, solar energy has become a necessity. This initiative, he said, would enable Pakistan to achieve energy self-sufficiency at a lower cost while playing a crucial role in mitigating global warming.
He acknowledged climate change as a pressing global issue and appreciated Balochistan’s proactive measures to combat its effects. He further stated that if China extends large-scale guidance and assistance to Pakistan’s underprivileged communities, it would pave the way for urbanization and industrialization in the country.
Concluding his speech, Governor Mandokhail expressed optimism about the future and reiterated that empowering the common people through solar energy would drive sustainable progress. He congratulated Chinese Consul General Yung Yundong and Friends of China Forum Chairman Bayezeed Khan Kasi on the successful organization of the event.
