
Mastung, Balochistan – A Terrorist Attack Averted
Quetta: A suspected suicide bombing took place near Lakhpass, Mastung, near the Balochistan National Party’s (BNP) protest site, government officials confirmed. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident.
Government Confirms Leaders and Protestors Are Safe
According to the spokesperson for the Government of Balochistan, the explosion occurred near the BNP sit-in, where Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal, Nawab Muhammad Khan Shahwani, BNP’s top leadership, tribal elders, and a large number of participants were present. Officials assured all leaders and attendees, including Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal, that they were safe.
BNP Leadership in Contact with Authorities
The Balochistan government has been in constant communication with BNP leadership since last night, seeking to ensure their safety and maintain order. It was also revealed that a BNP delegation met with the administration the previous night, followed by an agreement for a formal meeting between government representatives and Sardar Akhtar Mengal today.

Authorities have launched a thorough investigation into the attack. The Government of Balochistan has assured the public that inquiry results will be shared soon, reinforcing its commitment to transparency and accountability.

In an official statement, the Government of Balochistan urged Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal, BNP leadership, and the public to cooperate with the authorities. It stressed that ensuring the safety of all citizens remains the government’s top priority. Officials encouraged peaceful dialogue to resolve concerns and stabilize the situation.
As the investigation continues, security measures around the BNP protest site have intensified to prevent further threats.
