Gwadar Transporters Introduce New Bus Service for Passenger Convenience
Gwadar: A significant meeting of transporters was held under the chairmanship of Assistant Commissioner Gwadar, Mir Jawad Zehri, to address the travel challenges faced by the city’s residents. Key decisions were made to enhance public transport services.
Following discussions and consultations with all stakeholders, it was unanimously decided that transporters will dedicate a special bus service twice a day—once in the morning and once in the evening. This service will be exclusively for passengers who wish to avoid the hassle of overcrowded buses. To ensure a smooth experience, no cargo, oil, or extra baggage will be allowed on these buses. The service will strictly adhere to departure times and reach its destinations on schedule without unnecessary delays.
To support operational costs, the initial fare for each passenger has been set at Rs. 3,000. However, transporters have assured that if 40 passengers avail of the service daily, the fare will be reduced to Rs. 2,500.
This fare structure will remain in place until Eid-ul-Fitr. If the service proves successful, further fare reductions will be considered. Transporters have also committed to punctuality, ensuring that buses depart and arrive on time without any delays.
Additionally, the meeting resulted in an agreement to launch a shuttle service from Yusuf Goth to Lee Market and Saddar after Eid. Transporters have pledged to set an affordable fare for this route, making travel easier and more cost-effective for citizens.
Furthermore, the continuation of the previous relief initiatives for passengers was also confirmed during the meeting.
These measures aim to provide Gwadar’s residents with a more reliable, affordable, and efficient transportation system, improving overall travel convenience in the city.
